A Digital Interfaith Simulation-Based Islamic Religious Education Learning Model to Strengthen Religious Moderation

The rapid development of digital technology provides extensive opportunities for the world of education to introduce innovation in the learning process. This study aims to describe the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning model based on digital interfaith simulation and analyze its role in strengthening students' religious moderation at SMA Islam Plus Amali Bilakembar in Suela Village. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative research type. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used the Miles and Huberman model. Meanwhile, data validity was tested using source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results show that the digital interfaith simulation learning model integrates digital technology with simulations, collaborative discussions, and problem-based learning to create a contextual learning experience. This learning model is no longer teacher-centered, but rather provides space for students to build knowledge through contextual learning experiences. In addition, digital interfaith simulation has been proven to contribute to strengthening religious moderation by increasing tolerance, social awareness, digital literacy, and the ability to respond to diversity wisely without reducing commitment to religious teachings. Thus, the Islamic Education learning model based on digital interfaith simulation is one of the effective learning innovations in shaping the character of students who are moderate, inclusive, and adaptive to life in a multicultural society in the digital era.
