Abstract

This study aims to describe the principal’s efforts to improve learning quality in an inclusive school at SDN 4 Palangka, Palangka Raya City. The study focuses on three aspects: the principal’s strategies, the effectiveness of facilities and infrastructure, and supporting and inhibiting factors in improving learning quality. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects were the principal, one homeroom teacher, and three fourth- and fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the principal has implemented several strategies, including teacher competency development, teacher training, and adjustments to learning methods to accommodate students’ needs. However, the utilization of facilities and infrastructure remains limited due to inadequate resources. Supporting factors include the commitment of the principal and teachers to providing equitable learning opportunities, as well as collaboration with Palangka Raya University through socialization and the development of an adaptive learning environment. Inhibiting factors include limited facilities and difficulties in adapting the curriculum to inclusive education.
