Implementation of the Pomodoro Technique in Group Guidance Services to Reduce Academic Procrastination Among Grade X MPK-3 Students

This research was motivated by the discovery of academic procrastination tendencies carried out by some students of class X MPK-3 at SMKN 2 Palangka Raya. This study aims to describe the process of implementing the Pomodoro technique in group guidance services to reduce and determine its impact on students' academic procrastination. The research uses a qualitative approach with the type of Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK). The research subjects consisted of eight students in class X MPK-3. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing with validity tests through triangulation techniques. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the Pomodoro technique in group guidance services can be carried out through two cycles of PTBK and help students reduce academic procrastination. In addition, group tutoring services with the Pomodoro technique have a positive impact in the form of reduced tendency to delay starting tasks, improved time management skills, increased concentration and reduced distractions, increased productivity in doing tasks and decreased mental pressure when facing tasks. Thus, the Pomodoro technique is suitable as an alternative technique to help reduce academic procrastination.
