The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the world of education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to analyze the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in the digital era and identify opportunities and challenges that arise in its use. The study used a qualitative approach with a library research method through analysis of various scientific journal articles and relevant academic sources, especially publications from the last five years. The results of the study indicate that Generative AI can be used to help provide information, understand PAI material, develop teaching materials, increase learning interactivity, and support the efficiency of teacher and student activities. On the other hand, its use faces challenges such as the accuracy and validity of religious information, dependence on technology, academic integrity, digital literacy, and the need for teacher supervision. The study concludes that Generative AI has the potential to be a flexible and interactive PAI learning tool, but its use must be carried out critically, selectively, and responsibly, while still positioning teachers as directors and validators of religious information.
