Pendampingan Guru Bahasa Arab dalam Mengembangkan Media Pembelajaran Inovatif Berbasis Potensi Lokal di Kabupaten Ponorogo

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the competence of Arabic language teachers in developing innovative learning media based on local potential in Ponorogo Regency. The program employed a participatory mentoring approach across several stages, including needs and initial conditions identification, conceptual strengthening, local potential mapping, learning media development and practice, product mentoring and refinement, implementation trials, and evaluation and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, discussions, questionnaires, documentation, and assessment of the learning media products developed by the teachers. The results showed that the mentoring program helped teachers understand the principles for selecting and developing learning media aligned with learning objectives, material characteristics, and students’ needs. Teachers also began to develop their ability to utilize digital technology and integrate local potential in Ponorogo, including culture, traditional arts, local traditions, the environment, and social life, into Arabic language learning media. The products developed included interactive presentations, instructional videos, digital vocabulary cards, infographics, and interactive activity worksheets. Overall, the mentoring program contributed to improving teachers’ readiness and skills in developing Arabic language learning media that are more creative, contextual, and relevant to students’ environment.
