Financial Statement Analysis and Accounting Application for Jelita Laundry in East Karawang (June 2026 Period)

Abstract

The growth of the laundry business in Karawang City shows a significant increase every year, which leads to very tight competition among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. In the context of these developments, effective financial management is the most important factor for business sustainability. The purpose of this study is to find out how the application of accounting in the Laundry Jelita business in East Karawang is an accordance with the basic concept of accounting. This research uses a qualitative method, and the object is the owner of the Jelita Laundry business. This study uses primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from interviews and structured list of questions, while secondary data was obtained from literature review books, journals, theses, and data analysis using descriptive methods. Weaknesses in supervision result in the risk of miscalculation and inefficiencies in operational costs. As a solution, this study recommends the development of the application of simple computer-based accounting to reduce errors, improve internal control of cash, and produce accurate and timely financial statements to support more strategic decision-making.
