Design and Construction of a Mobile-Based GPS Attendance System for Students at MAN 1 Cirebon

The rapid development of information and communication technology in Indonesia drives the needs of the community, especially in the institutional environment, for fast, precise, and efficient access to information and communication. The purpose of this study is to discuss the GPS technology-based attendance application developed to support accurate and valid student attendance recording at MAN 1 Cirebon. Using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach, this application is built with PHP and Visual Studio Code as development tools, and is web-based for the Android platform for easy access. Data were collected through observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that testing can be done using the Black Box Testing method to ensure the suitability of the system to the needs. The system uses MySQL as a database and produces efficient attendance management and daily and monthly attendance reports with data stored more securely.
