Strategy for Developing Tourism Potential of Banyuwangi District (Case Study: Ijen Crater)

Ijen Crater is a tourist spot in Banyuwangi Regency that has a tourist attraction so that it can become a popular tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists. Ijen Crater Tourism is one of the mountain tours that is in great demand because of the charm of the beauty at the peak such as blue fire. This study aims to determine alternative strategies for developing Ijen Crater Tourism. This research method is a qualitative descriptive method, and analyzes internal and external factors of Ijen crater tourism through the IFAS and EFAS matrices and the SWOT Analysis Table. The results of the study indicate that based on the research conducted, it can be seen that the health facilities in the Ijen area are still too far away and transportation is still limited and some roads are still rocky and damaged. The results of the SWOT analysis obtained nine alternatives that can be used for Ijen crater tourism.
