Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of reading comprehension skills through auditory learning models in grade V students of SDN 64 Buntu Ampang, Anggeraja District, Enrekang Regency. This type of research is classroom action research (Class Action Research) consisting of two cycles where each cycle is carried out four times. The focus of this study is 1) Reading comprehension skills and 2) The use of auditory learning models in grade V SDN 64 Buntu Ampang, Anggeraja District, Enrekang Regency. The research procedure includes planning, implementing actions, observation and reflection. The subjects of the study were 20 grade V students. The data collected were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of this study are an increase in student learning activities from cycle I to cycle II, student learning outcomes have increased with an average score difference of 20, where the average score of student learning outcomes in cycle I increased from 63 to 83 in cycle II. The students' reading comprehension learning completion also increased by 60%, where in cycle I, out of 8 (40%) students achieved learning completion, while in cycle II as many as 20 (100%) students achieved learning completion and classical learning completion was achieved. This means that learning completion in cycle II was achieved classically because the number of students who completed it was more than 80%. Based on the results of the study above, it can be concluded that the reading comprehension skills of class V SDN 64 Buntu Ampang, Anggeraja District, Enrekang Regency through the application of the auditory learning model have increased.
