Abstract

The Society 5.0 era, which is marked by advances in information and communication technology (ICT), has brought significant changes in various aspects of life, including in the field of education. Educators and students in the 21st century are required to have skills that support adaptation to change, such as communication skills, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity (4C). 21st century learning demands innovation in the use of technology as a learning medium, however the success of implementing this concept is very dependent on the teacher's understanding and perception of it. This research aims to explore teacher readiness in facing 21st century learning, with a focus on the competencies required at SMPN 1 Mlarak. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews with Social Sciences subject teachers. The research results show that although many teachers do not fully understand 21st century learning, they are trying to improve their skills in various ways, such as through communication, collaboration and creativity. However, a major challenge faced is the lack of adequate training and understanding of the technology. For this reason, teachers are expected to be able to take part in training tailored to their needs in order to be able to optimize the use of technology in learning without sacrificing the quality of teaching.
