The Civics learning process at SD Negeri 26 Pulau Balang Lompo showed low student engagement and suboptimal learning outcomes. To address this, the active learning model of role reversal question type was used as a strategy to improve student engagement and understanding. This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subjects were 17 fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 26 Pulau Balang Lompo. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The success indicator was set at ≥80% of students achieving a score of ≥80. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes. Learning completeness increased from 47% (pre-action) to 52% in cycle I, and increased significantly to 88% in cycle II. The average student score also increased from 62.05 (pre-action) to 73.23 (cycle I), and reached 85.58 (cycle II). The role reversal question type active learning model has been proven effective in improving the civics learning outcomes of fifth grade students. The question and answer activity by exchanging roles encourages students to think critically, actively, and responsibly in the learning process.
