Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using picture story media on the reading comprehension skills of class II students of MI Muhammadiyah Pammase, Bajeng District, Gowa Regency. This type of research is pre-experimental research. The sample in this study was 19 students. Data collection techniques were carried out using learning outcome tests and observation sheets. Data analysis techniques in this study were descriptive data analysis techniques and T-Test tests. The results showed that reading comprehension skills before implementing picture story media in the pretest with an average value of 64.8. While in the posttest increased with an average value of 82.6. The results of the t-test analysis on the effect of picture story media on both interest and student learning outcomes showed that the significance value obtained was good, namely the effect of picture story media on reading comprehension skills (Sig = 0.011) was smaller than the specified alpha value of 0.05 (0.011 <0.05). Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which states that there is an influence of the use of illustrated story media on the reading comprehension skills of class II students of MI Muhammadiyah Pammase, Bajeng District, Gowa Regency.
